In May 1989,with the approval of the State Council, Fuzhou Taiwanese-invested
Area Covering 1.8km,was established within the Fuzhou Economic
and technological Development Zone. Since then backed up by the
preferential policies for the state-level Fuzhou Economic and
Technological Development Zone, Duty-free Zone ,and High Scientific
and Technological industrial Zone and favorite geological position,
the area has attracted a wide range of in vestment by Taiwan businesspeople,
and development programs have crowded within the extent of thus
injecting new vitality for further development of the Taiwanese-invested
area. In Jan.1997,the Fujian provincial People's Government decided
to extend 6km.
To the mouth of the Minjiang River for the area and reported
to the State Council. The extended new area attaches major importance
to economic and trade cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, directs
to the 21st century, combines the port and the investment zone
with cooperative development, aiming to grow into an initial port
of three opens across the Strait and shipping center, a vital
window on economic and trade cooperation across the Strait and
investment-invitation center, a major area of industrial division
and cooperation and distributing center of processing transfer
of Fujing and Taiwan, and a new growth point for Fuzhou's development
of export-oriented harbor economy. The extended new area, a virgin
land under development, plans to build one port and four zones,
that is, Chang'an port, duty-free processing and trade zone, industrial
zone, commercial trade and financial zone and life-service zone.
Now the infrastructure project of the new area has been initiated,
meeting the requirements for the earlier stage of development.
Advanced communications facilities, sufficient water and electricity
supply, easy three-dimensional transportation, consummate services
for foreign investment, and preferential…To choose the new area
is to pick the powerful wings for undertaking take-off.
"Vast sea allows fish dive; High heaven leaven lets birds
